Description
We will present a case study that demonstrates how—by following the building information modeling (BIM) process and using the correct processes and tools—we have significantly impacted the HVDC (high-voltage direct current) planning, design, operations, construction, and operations and maintenance phases. Our presentation will address the challenges that the large energy sector industry faces, and provide concrete examples of how BIM has helped us, our partners, customers, and subcontractors overcome them. We'll present impressive statistics and metrics that quantify the remarkable benefits of BIM, such as reducing project costs and rework in construction time through BIM in our power sector projects. We will also show how, by rigidly following the BIM process, we managed to reduce our design errors by 98% from Project A to Project B.
Key Learnings
- Learn about addressing change management issues within large and complex companies in the energy sector.
- Learn about going from an idea to having a global BIM and digital-twin organization with more than 60 employees globally supporting projects.
- Learn about digitally connecting your project execution workflow from the planning phase to operations and maintenance with BIM tools, processes, and digital twins.
