We'll present various functionalities together with project examples from industry leaders. We'll also focus on the modeling of reinforcement and prestressing for concrete bridges. Parametric profile-based design is taken to the next level with enriched information for rebars and tendons. It gives you more flexibility and custom levels of parametrization. Everything is controlled and adjusted with user-friendly input. Rebar and tendon annotations, elevation schedules, and other model-based information can be extracted and shared with other stakeholders.

This session will explore the tool for automatic generation of 3D rebar shop drawing utilizing Revit. The tool uses parametric modeling to create complicated rebar shop drawings twice as fast as conventional methods. When applied to a diaphragm wall of the subway project, the tool achieved a labor cost reduction of 150,000 USD. In addition, the speeding up of the shop drawing creation process enabled a more rational design with more detailed design cross-sections, and a 10% reduction in rebar material compared to the initial design. To improve the efficiency of the subsequent rebar processing process, trials are underway to link rebar information in Revit with rebar processing machines. In large-scale infrastructure projects, activities related to reinforcement (such as drawing, fabrication, and assembly) significantly impact the schedules and costs. This tool is expected to contribute to solving human resource issues and to sustainability by reducing material losses.

CADS first presented RebarCAD 3D for Revit software at AU in 2018. We're now nearly seven years into the development of the program, and, as a result, a lot has changed! Detailing rebar in Revit has been made easier and more efficient using additional tools to add special rebar bend types, circular bars, and even the ability to apply "one click" detailing to members using the Smart Detailer. The audit facility provides the user with full and efficient control over all rebar in the model, checking assignment to release and identifying any rebar that does not conform to the customizable preset rebar requirements. Detailers can efficiently output rebar production files directly from the Revit model to the major fabrication systems for production, with just a few clicks. Revision control tools for bar list and release management—combined with the ability to fully lock the rebar type, position, and dimensions in the model—result in complete quality control.
