Artificial intelligence is reshaping AECO, but most solutions remain disconnected from engineering and fabrication workflows where technical decisions are made. Through live demonstrations, this session will show AI embedded within production environments, leveraging engineering standards, deterministic calculation engines, fabrication rules, and BIM data. Explore AI-assisted model management, load generation, detailing, and cross-platform workflows enabled through AI skills and APIs/MCPs, delivering reliable, auditable results while keeping engineers and fabricators in control.

Revit software is evolving into a design-driven environment for structural engineers, enabling a seamless transition from analysis to reinforcement and documentation. In this hands-on session, you'll integrate results from FEM software such as Robot Structural Analysis, GRAITEC Advance Design, or other tools directly into Revit to perform code-based checks and generate reinforcement for concrete members, including beams, columns, footings, and walls. You'll automate rebar cage generation, produce engineering reports, and generate drawings and schedules within a single BIM-integrated platform, reducing manual work, improving coordination, and ensuring compliance with US and European standards.

This session will look at a case study on delivering reinforcement shop drawings for viaducts and station buildings using Revit software at metro scale. SYSTRA India adapted building-centered workflows to infrastructure precast through a template-to-transmittal strategy which included: standardized content and shared parameters; parametric rebar families aligned to fabricator shape codes; and automation for numbering, scheduling, and batch sheet creation. Rule‑based QA checks, strict revision control, and ERP‑ready exports ensured traceability from model to yard. Results included 30% to 40% faster turnarounds.

As structural projects move from analysis and design intent into detailing and fabrication readiness, teams often struggle with rework, inconsistent model behavior, and repetitive documentation tasks. In this 90-minute lab, you'll create analytical models with improved automation, editing, loads, and boundary conditions. You'll also apply new rebar modeling techniques and detailing workflows, work with detailed steel modeling, and automate element numbering with rule-based controls. Guided exercises will demonstrate how these capabilities improve analytical model accuracy and editability, strengthen reinforcement definition and documentation, reduce manual effort, and support more-reliable downstream delivery.

Architects and engineers are often asked to adopt tools that fundamentally change how they work, without having had a voice in how those tools were designed. That disconnect can turn new technology into another process teams have to work around. Before founding Pirros, Peter Johann and Ari Baranian worked as structural engineers and experienced that disconnect firsthand. Using the development of a new QA/QC product as a case study, they will describe how their engineering experience helped them identify problems with traditional QA/QC processes, and how they partnered directly with Pirros clients to design, test, and refine the new product. Attendees will learn how architecture and engineering firms can provide feedback that shapes product decisions and how software teams can involve clients more effectively throughout development. Both sides will leave with practical ways to build stronger working relationships, and create tools that better reflect real project workflows.

Structural engineers often skip steel connection tools because they don't want to model every fastener. This hands-on lab will prove they don't have to. You'll configure connections by adjusting key parameters and watch geometry respond in real time, also discovering how Revit software now keeps consistent geometry and parameters when the workflow moves from design to steel connections. Toward the close of the session, we'll tag plans, annotate detail views, assemble sheets, and build connection schedules. Whether you're transitioning from 2D or looking to enhance your steel workflows, this session will equip you with hands-on skills to design with confidence.

In this hands-on lab, you'll learn how to create, manage, and maintain analytical models in Revit for the purpose of structural analysis, BIM coordination, and design documentation. You'll explore how to keep analytical and physical models coordinated as your design evolves, prepare your model for structural analysis, and bring analysis results back into your BIM workflow. By the end of the session, you'll be able to close the loop between design and analysis, improving accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration in your structural projects. The session is for structural engineers and technicians who design and coordinate for BIM.

The Dynamo extension can be overwhelming to look at when visualizing large graphs. This class will cover how to start with simple goals and present content to colleagues in a manner that will not intimidate them. We will be focusing on Dynamo graphs that benefit MEP (mechanical, electrical, and plumbing) engineering firms in the design process. Some basic understanding of Dynamo by attendees is appreciated. This session features Dynamo Studio and Revit MEP. AIA Approved

With the "Streamline exchange of data between Civil 3D, Revit and InfraWorks" class we will explore a mature workflows & understanding on how model needs to share from Civil 3D to Revit and from Revit to InfraWorks. This will block any mistakes from starting of the project, increase productivity & save the time from reworking at any project stage or whenever data needs to share with other applications.

Where do you start design? The best tool for a designer is the pencil, and every design begins with a sketch. We have several experienced designers who have embraced the digital pencil for a project-centered workflow. In this class, we will go through a process to convert surfaces to BIM (Building Information Modeling) using FormIt, and bring the results into Revit software. We will explore how to overcome the challenges of surface geometry interoperability using Dynamo. We will explore the Dynamo Script to convert surface geometry with no design intelligence or data to native Revit elements, and use Dynamo Player to help our designers iterate through changes in a model. Lastly, we will use the parameters to flex through numerous iterations on the web with Project Fractal. We will evaluate the pros and cons of automation versus starting a model from scratch in Revit. The process lets us reduce rework, helping improve efficiency in the early stages of design.

This hands-on lab will allow users to get some hands-on time with generative design. We will cover how to define a generative design study from scratch, apply loads, constraints, and manufacturing methods. Once completed, we will explore the results and export an outcome and then use the innovate tools with Fusion 360 to adjust the design to suit the manufacturing method we would like to use. We will cover 2 example through the workshop, one focused around manufacturing products and the other around building products.

A key requirement for a transportation project to be eligible for federal funding is completion of a noise assessment. If post-development noise levels are determined to be above a certain threshold, sound mitigation may be required pending a vote by those who would benefit from the reduction of noise. In this session, we'll review a real-world case study in which InfraWorks software was used to create a detailed model of a completed roadway design. Using the InfraWorks web viewer, the model was shared with voters to help them understand the visual impacts of a potential sound wall. We will demonstrate advanced workflows for importing and configuring CAD, geographic information system (GIS), and imagery data in InfraWorks to create a detailed visualization model. We'll also explore the use of custom InfraWorks schema, create new styles using imported materials, optimize scenarios for online viewing, and demonstrate storyboard creation techniques.

When Revit software first hit the market, users thought the best place for it would be in the architect world, doing simple, cookie-cutter buildings. Who would have thought that it could turn out to be a powerful modeler for non-traditional buildings, such as process plants, water treatment plants, or wastewater treatment plants. In this class, we discuss how the MEP tools in Revit benefit these types of jobs; how to work with your content providers to get the best representation possible; how to get more value from BIM models in other products, such as Autodesk® Simulation-based software; and how to position the BIM model to your client and their contractor. Learn what it takes to be competitive in this market with Revit as your primary modeling tool, and do it efficiently.

Autodesk, Inc., has given us a variety of water resource tools in Infrastructure Design Suite software. If you are a manager or a designer, you need to know if you can stop paying maintenance on competing software and move your organization forward with a single suite of tools. You want to know what is in the suite for someone who does what you do and if it can do the things you need it to do. In this class you’ll get a better understanding of what equations are being used in which applications and how to find the right fit for the project requirements that are being passed on down to you. We will review Storm Sewers, Hydrographs, Express Tools, SSA, and River Analysis. You’ll also learn some tips and tricks from those who are already familiar with these tools.

Generative design is the process of setting design parameters and then using computational analysis to come up with multiple solutions. It has been widely used in the manufacturing industry; it is also gaining more attention in the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry in space design, sustainability studies, and urban planning. However, the construction industry has not fully invested in the power of generative design. With more contractors using BIM (Building Information Modeling) to deliver projects, more data is available and can be used to generate and manipulate outcomes. This class will focus on applications of generative design that optimize construction processes. We will present a background on generative design as well as case studies. The class will also show how to get started with generative design for construction using current technologies, including Dynamo. The digitization of today’s projects, along with the power of computation, creates the potential to facilitate construction processes and build better buildings.

Revit cloud is quickly picking up speed in many offices, but the small ins and outs can hold back even the strongest Revit users from running a cloud project. From firsthand experience, this class will go over what you need to know and to expect when making the transition from server to cloud. We'll go over troubleshooting, best practices, order of operations for implementation, and what would be considered optimal project types for Collaboration for Revit.

Civil infrastructure industry professionals, product developers, and technology evangelists are invited to join a roundtable discussion on how we might reimagine the way Building Information Modeling (BIM) for civil engineer is implemented. In this session we will focus on how underground utility piping has evolved in Autodesk, Inc., software, beginning from Land Desktop software, continuing through AutoCAD Civil 3D software, and now into InfraWorks 360 software. We will talk about what worked well through the years, what failed miserably, and what Autodesk can do in the future to improve what we call BIM for the world of civil infrastructure.

If you've ever designed the zoning of a building, any building, you know that functionality of spaces can be more important than anything. The more standardized operation and maintenance is, the more organized are the set of rules you have to take into consideration. Examples have been given in the past regarding stadiums, airports, and terminal stations. Generative design is the way of translating into computer language that which happens in your mind: a set of conditions that needs to be respected in order for your project to work. A hotel room is one of those distinctively rule-based spaces—there are a group of standardized key factors that govern its exact configuration. Once you determine those rules, you can use them to create the framework for a rapid generative exploration of alternatives, highlight discordances rapidly between brief expectations and the given boundaries, and check and double-check your ideas against operational routines. This class will show you how. This session features Revit Architecture and Dynamo Studio. AIA Approved

In this session we will have a look at how to create localized design rules for the design roads created with the roadway Design Module for InfraWorks 360 software. We will also look at how to localize the rules used for inspecting a drainage pipe network. And finally we will have an introduction in Project Kameleon preview, which enables you to create localized content for manholes and inlets for use with the drainage design module for InfraWorks 360 software and AutoCAD Civil 3D software.

Revit systems help us to define the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) design in several ways, but the main purpose is to understand the relationships between system equipment, such as air terminals to air handling units, or from light fixtures to panels. This lab (which has won multiple Autodesk University awards) will teach you the key steps needed to control project system settings, then demonstrate how to capitalize on (or disable) sizing and analysis tools related to the system. We'll cover creating the target-source relationship between parts, and then we'll review using the systems to improve the quality of your documentation. On top of this, you'll get a project template that already defines everything in the class, so you can take advantage of these topics immediately. The class will cover HVAC (heating, ventilating, and air conditioning), piping, and electrical items, so join us for this fast-paced, but thorough, lab-you'll be glad you did. This session will feature Revit MEP software and Revit software.
