    Description

Imagine a new construction—a house, a room, a building, anything. It will most certainly have walls, and of different types. While internal walls help divide up space, external walls must be weatherproof to withstand the test of time. Architects, site workers, and construction managers need to visualize these different styles of walls in designs and documentation. Such variations in styles are a norm not only in walls, but also in other objects such as stairs, windows, doors, ducts, and so on. How does one keep track of these various styles in different drawings and projects? As the scale of construction increases, so does the complexity. Our class introduces the concept of the Styles Browser Palette in AutoCAD Architecture software (Building Design Suite software, AutoCAD MEP) through live demonstration and examples. We’ll establish the productivity gains achievable (2x/3x or more, based on object type) while consolidating, visualizing, and applying styles to objects using the Styles Browser Palette versus without it.

    Key Learnings

    • Learn how to consolidate, visualize, add/import multiple styles from project standards drawings
    • Learn how to view all object types grouped into architectural object types and documentation object types
    • Learn how to consolidate, visualize, add/import multiple styles from currently opened drawings
    • Learn how to access documentation and multipurpose objects from a single location, and discover how to increase productivity
