Public Restroom Design Transformed by Automated Design Systems Using Forge

We developed A-SPEC, a computational design tool that aims to be a partner for architectural designers, based on the concept of "thinking together about RESTROOMS.” For any specified space, the cloud-based A-SPEC program will run multiple simulations and propose some better restroom-layout plans from tens of thousands of ideas. The design know-how that we’ve proposed in the past is utilized throughout the program to evaluate both the automatic calculations and the layout of the automatic design results derived from those calculations. The design results are converted into a 3D model using Forge Viewer, with veracity confirmable by the human eye. Finally, the results can be linked to Revit software and AutoCAD software via the Design Automation API. In addition to reducing design work time, this tool enables generalization and uniformity of design accuracy without relying on the individual know-how of designers.

Let’s Collaborate: Sharing and Comparing Drawings in AutoCAD 2021

During the process of designing and drafting, you often need to share your designs with clients who do not have AutoCAD software. In this class, we will learn how to share views electronically using the Autodesk cloud environment, as opposed to simply printing PDF/DWF files. These shared views are stored in the cloud to be viewed and commented on using any web-enabled desktop or mobile device. After sharing a drawing file, we will measure and mark up the design in the Viewer and send the design back to AutoCAD. We will also use the Drawing Compare command on the two versions of a drawing file to highlight the differences so that the clients can easily visualize them.

2D to 3D: How to Make It Work for You

We deliver our projects differently from most building services companies. Our engineers generate project deliverables rather than CAD technicians. As such, the majority of engineers deliver projects in Revit software, creating intelligent models to meet clients’ requirements. We’ve been delivering projects in 3D for 10 years; however, only recently has the engineers’ preference become working in Revit rather than AutoCAD software. This shift is a result of the work completed throughout the last few years; engineers now believe delivering projects in Revit is the simplest and quickest method. We will guide attendees through the work we have undertaken to achieve this, looking at the easiest wins before moving to the more ambitious, including the development of bespoke tools. We will look at how we can automate boring tasks, giving engineers more time to be creative. Speed Up Drawing Creation Through the Power of Templates in Fusion 360

Drawing templates, when used to create drawings in Fusion 360 software, can both accelerate the time it takes to complete your mechanical engineering documentation, and ensure your drawings consistently represent your business and project standards. We will start by creating a new title block, with fields that can be automatically populated with information from the design, project, and your profile. We will add this to a new template, then walk through other options for customizing the template for your specific office and business needs. A Winning Combination: 3ds Max 2019 and Revit Interoperability

This class showcases the interoperability of 3ds Max software with other products, such as Revit software and AutoCAD software. This class is all about linking and reloading files from other software products into a 3ds Max scene. We will start by learning about the various settings that can be configured while linking a Revit (.rvt) file. We will then create a new linking preset and modify it as per specific requirements. Learn to use the new preset to bring a Revit file into the 3ds Max scene. Finally, we will use a variation of the source Revit file and learn how to load those changes to show up directly in the 3ds Max scene. If time permits, we will explore the interoperability of AutoCAD and 3ds Max software products.
