Rendering at Scale Using AWS Deadline Cloud for VRED 2025/2026
AWS Deadline Cloud for VRED software is a fully managed, cloud-based, render management solution to burst high-quality rendering at scale. This easy-to-deploy and affordable solution supports VRED core and service-managed fleet (SMF) infrastructure—managed by AWS, requiring no IT commitments to configure, deploy, and maintain infrastructure and licensing. Customer-managed fleet (CMF) infrastructure offers end users the flexibility to use their existing on-prem hardware infrastructure or cloud-based environments to perform VRED rendering. Slides and live demos will illustrate how AWS Deadline Cloud for VRED can be integrated into an existing pipeline. This is illustrated through interfaces, including stand-alone tools, the Deadline Cloud API, and a render job submitter. Features highlighted will include grouping workers to fleets, assigning render job prioritization and scheduling, as well as monitoring progress through the Deadline Cloud monitor desktop application and AWS Management Console.

Digital Design Validation: Seeing Real-World Parts Virtually and Accurately
Digital design validation—or digital DVAC as we call it at Rivian (more commonly known as AAR in industry)—is a process during which defective injection-molded plastic parts are analyzed, textured, and visualized to real-world accuracy to set expectations throughout the design cycle. Implemented early in the design process, digital DVAC allows visually problematic parts to be caught and fixed before any production tools or prototype parts have been produced, significantly saving cost and development times. This process further enables designers and engineers to work together to reduce the visibility of such defects through either design-based texture changes or part geometry fixes, improving the overall perceived quality and craftsmanship of the end product.

Dynamic Cutting Force Prediction for Optimized Milling Parameter Selection in Autodesk Fusion
Machinist dynamics models may be used to predict milling performance and select optimal parameters at the computer numerical control (CNC) path planning stage. The intent is to select parameters that enable first part correct performance and avoid trial-and-error parameter identification. This requires that chatter, or self-excited vibration, does not occur, and that acceptable accuracy and surface finish are achieved. This session will demonstrate dynamic force prediction for Autodesk Fusion toolpaths, which incorporates the tool tip vibration response to predict the dynamic cutting force and tool vibration and the effect of relative vibration between the cutting tool and workpiece on the milling stability. This enables us to identify and correct locations where chatter occurs before part production. It introduces a feed rate optimization capability that modifies cutting times by updating the feed rate. And it has been shown to reduce cycle times by up to 50%. We’ll select an aerospace part and show results.

The data itself is authored by Autodesk Fusion software, but the data model is available to anyone you wish to share with. This manufacturing data can easily be used for analysis, processing, and sharing—without needing desktop authoring tools. You can use cloud functionality through GraphQL to seamlessly browse through hubs, projects, folders, files, and component properties—and use customized queries to fetch valuable data, integrate with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, automate project administrative tasks, and more.
