    Description

As the land-grant university in Florida and an R1 research institution, the University of Florida (UF) has an extensive facilities inventory, with buildings ranging from the early 1900s to modern research facilities. With 500+ permanent or significant buildings totaling 30+ million gross square feet, it’s critical to have scalable solutions that combine existing systems and advanced technologies as we embrace Digital Workplaces, artificial intelligence (AI), and streamlined workflows. Using the power of Autodesk Platform Services and the Construction Cloud common data environment (CDE), UF has automated the creation of Tandem Digital Workplaces, which are fully connected to critical systems—including BAS streaming and back population of time series data, space management, and work management for assets, work history, and costing. Links are embedded in UF systems to facilitate easy access to Tandem from multiple entry points. Automating the manual effort involved in standing up twins has allowed us to focus on what matters: accurate models and timely data.

    Key Learnings

    • Learn how to implement scalable workflows to automate the creation of Digital Workplaces using Tandem and Autodesk Platform Services.
    • Learn about integrating facilities data—including BAS, space management, and asset tracking—into a unified Digital Workplace ecosystem.
    • Explore the value of connecting Tandem and a common data environment to enhance accessibility and data continuity across systems.
    • Learn about validating Digital Workplace models by comparing real-time building performance data with operational and historical records.
