The introduction of Autodesk Forma as a project platform for engineering companies has often been the subject of presentations. We at DB Engineering & Consulting—the international engineering and consulting company of Deutsche Bahn—have a special challenge: We've been using Vault software for 10 years with about 2,500 users. With this high standard in CAD data management, a migration to Autodesk Forma is particularly challenging but necessary, due to the increasing percentage of building information modeling (BIM) methodology being used in our projects. In our session, we will outline how we plan to migrate from Vault to Autodesk Forma in two stages: First, we'll use Autodesk Forma for Revit modeling while CAD drawings remain in Vault. During the second stage, we'll also transfer the CAD part to Autodesk Forma. We'll share our solutions to address Autodesk Forma drawbacks for draftspersons, ensuring even Vault experts can adapt.

Autodesk Forma or Fusion Team is used to store product data created with Revit, Autodesk Fusion, Inventor, and other Autodesk CAD authoring tools. The data stored in these cloud systems is often the most important intellectual property, and it's also critical for users who do not have access to Autodesk cloud-based systems. The construction industry is facing multiple challenges, such as increased demand for buildings, as well as sustainability pressures and skills shortages. Add to that the risk of natural disasters and global events, and the industry is forced to look at efficient, replicable, and sustainable practices. Industrialized construction is one of the ways the industry is trying to resolve these challenges. But the question remains: Is industrialized construction a solution, or can we do something more? In this class, you'll learn how the Manufacturing Informed Design API takes industrialized construction to the next level by introducing productization into the solution. It provides for defining, designing, and building with customizable construction products that are manufacturable and can be assembled on-site or in the shop. You'll learn how informed design supports Inventor and Revit software through Autodesk Forma in delivering sustainable and replicable solutions for homes, schools, and health care.

In 2022, Samsung Electronics initiated its journey to cloud adoption by choosing and examining Autodesk Forma for its multibillion-dollar fabrication facility (FAB) construction projects with assistance from Autodesk. During this transition, it was critical that the company adhere to national security regulations, and guide internal users to shift their preferences from 2D to 3D workflows. In this session, the team will share how it has ensured a secure project environment around Autodesk Forma using Amazon Web Service (AWS) and a third-party identity provider to comply with security regulations. Additionally, the session will give an overview of a custom solution—created by Autodesk Consulting built on top of Autodesk Platform Services—that enhanced the 3D collaboration efficiency. This session will provide a wealth of knowledge and overview of Samsung Electronics' multiyear endeavor in adopting Autodesk cloud platforms for its semiconductor fabrication plant construction projects.

Every asset owner wants to be in control of their assets and associated data. But how can we ensure that is data is up to date and correct so that it accurately translates to the correct information? How do we cope with changes, and can we ensure that the contractor or engineering firm receives the correct information? Additionally, there's a growing demand to make the data accessible and user-friendly in relation to geography. The Water Authority Drents Overijsselse Delta has made some changes to cope with this challenge. To create an accessible environment, it plots its assets on geographic information system (GIS) layers using ArcGIS GeoBIM. Additionally, the Water Authority wants to ensure that all its existing and new assets are being monitored correctly and are reliable according to national and organizational requirements. To achieve this goal, it's using the power of Autodesk Forma in combination with Cadac Control and Model Coordination.

The global market for computing power is increasing exponentially, and the biggest challenge the industry faces is how to deliver the required physical infrastructure fast enough to keep up. For data center owners and operators—many of whom are the largest companies in the world—it is a strategic imperative that they find new ways to accelerate how they plan, design, construct, operate, and optimize their data center facilities. Autodesk provides a range of products that owners and operators can use to help meet these objectives, but they're rarely used in a fully integrated manner throughout the life of a data center. In this session, Gafcon Digital (an Accenture company) will demonstrate how Autodesk products are being deployed on behalf of data center owners and operators for a variety of processes throughout the lives of their facilities, showcasing the use of Autodesk applications (such as Revit software, Autodesk Forma, and Autodesk Tandem software) and platforms.

This session is a high-level strategy road map of how companies with a large project portfolio can use Autodesk Forma to take pragmatic steps within the Autodesk Forma user interface to benefit both in the short term and long term. We'll use real-world examples using Amazon Transportation Engineering Services (TES) as a case study. Managing user-access control and evaluating project robustness within the Autodesk Forma hub presents formidable challenges. This case study dives into the innovative strategies devised by Burns & McDonnell, in collaboration with Autodesk Consulting, to confront these obstacles head on. We explore Burns & McDonnell's business requirements and key performance indicators (KPIs), assessing the capabilities of the Autodesk Data Connector and Insight module. The study showcases the development of project robustness assessments using data sets from Data Connector, and dives into the technical intricacies of the ELT process and data pipeline. Emphasis is placed on data engineering processes to curate consolidated tables tailored to customer KPIs. Resulting products include a user-access control tool and robustness scoring systems, transforming raw data into actionable insights. These systems offer detailed intelligence for strategic decision making at Burns & McDonnell.

This case study explores how we automatically ingested Autodesk Forma building information modeling (BIM) content (3D model, drawings, docs) using generative AI, knowledge graph technologies, and SAP gateways to automatically generate assets in SAP. This smart handover provides operations with an adapted data framework enabling rapid information contextualization to support any field engineering or maintenance problem-solving activities. In this POV—executed in collaboration with Autodesk, Capgemini, and Cognite—we've explored solutions to the two following business problems: How do we reduce the postdelivery bottleneck of asset creation in SAP from 12 months to less than one month, enabling bidirectional updates between SAP and BIM data sources? How do we reduce downtime and improve reliability by decreasing the response time following an event by 70%–80%? And how do we eliminate the burden of manual data gathering (contextualization) across multiple siloed systems and provide co-pilot support (generative AI) to summarize and correlate data sources?
