Life Made Simple with Model Simplification

Description

Many designers require model simplification as a method for managing large assemblies, incorporating placeholder geometry into an assembly, or simplifying proprietary data that is going to an external vendor. In this class you will learn about the simplification tools that are available for use in Inventor software. We will discuss Shrinkwrap, Derive, and model simplification tools, and we will also cover Design View and Level of Detail representations.

Key Learnings

  • Learn how to create a derived part using the Shrinkwrap tool
  • Create new geometry in a part by importing and referencing objects from a source part
  • Learn how to selectively include or exclude components and create envelope geometry in order to create a new part model to represent an assembly
  • Compare the Shrinkwrap, Derive, and Simplify tools with one another to help determine which effectively fits your applications
