The Fusion data management experience has come a long way. We are the pioneers of cloud-based CAD/CAM, breaking new norms in the industry. Offering easy access to your data from anywhere, anytime, and on any machine. The past few years have shown the true benefit of cloud-based data. It's imperative to enable individuals and teams to collaborate in real-time, staying connected with their projects even when working remotely. Now, we're working on connecting your data together on a common data platform. We're expanding on our APIs, and making sure that relevant data is captured and retained through the entire design-to-make process. Join us as we explore data management improvements that have been recently released, as well as those currently being explored in research and development in the area of data management for Autodesk Fusion, ranging from the data management integration with the desktop client to the web client, from the base product to the Manage Extension.

This class provides guidance for creating Revit software models that you can use effectively for facilities management. We will focus primarily on the creation of simple models that you can use as the foundations for facility plans to be used for space management, asset management, and maintenance. This class will focus on the basics, such as generating proper area plans, creating areas, and placing assets. We will also explore concepts including level of accuracy; level of development; and communication of your modeling needs to service providers who are creating models for you during the design, engineering, and construction process. We'll wrap up this session by connecting our model to a Computer-Aided Facilities Management / Integrated Workplace Management System (CAFM/IWMS) Solution so we can explore our results in a more traditional facilities management environment.

As client and project requirements become more and more complex, the need to manage information in Autodesk Revit software and data connected to Revit becomes exceedingly important. This class will survey the landscape of tools available to aid in this task, including tools for family and parameter management as well as specific tools for program management. Autodesk® Vault software, dRofus, Microsoft® Access®, Microsoft® Excel® tools and others will be covered. During the class, we will touch on project experience with many of these tools and provide guidance on how to approach many data management challenges in Revit.

The vast majority misunderstand the implementation of any software. Software implementation is not always just a tool replacement; it can often become a complete overhaul of people, processes, and technology. Cost overruns can be detrimental to a project and to companies' overall financial health. Cost Management in Forma Build is a robust tool that offers complete project cost control. It simplifies complex workflows and enables a firm to establish a standardized approach to managing costs on a project. Implementation of Cost Management affects all aspects of an organization. Therefore, a strategic approach, dedicated resources, and proper expectations are necessary for successful implementation. In this session, we'll discuss the key pillars of a successful implementation, including integration into an ERP system.

Let's talk about implementing a comprehensive information management strategy as it relates to BIM, digital twins, and asset data. In this session, you'll hear about the new information management strategy created for the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport (ATL) Planning and Development department.

Do you want to learn how to build families properly? Do you want to know how to build them with custom parameters? Do you want to know how to build them for facilities management use? If so, this class is for you. If not, come anyway and learn something cool and fun. Unlock the power of creating your own custom content. In this hands-on lab, you'll learn about the art of building Revit families from the ground up, specifically tailored for facility management. We'll guide you through setting up the framework, crafting geometry, adding character, and defining custom parameters. By the end, you'll know how to schedule your data and use these families to streamline your facility management workflows.

The BIM 360 Product Management Team will review the recent enhancements to the Project Management module and share priorities for our product road map. Learn about how BIM 360 software can help you create, manage, review, and monitor your RFIs and submittals throughout the project.

Tracking the software used within an organization is an important job. If it’s your job, what methods and approaches do you use? Even with the best intentions, it can be easy to make mistakes which, if left unchecked, could lead to much bigger problems. This class will show you common Software Asset Management mistakes that are applicable to AutoCAD and many other Autodesk products. You’ll learn how to spot the tell-tale signs that can help you identify mistakes. You’ll discover practical ways to minimize the problems and take the first step towards better management of the software in your organization. You’ll also see what is possible in the mid- and long-term to improve your Software Asset Management skills and practice.

Inconsistent cost practices, unclear ownership, and fragmented financial workflows are common challenges for general contractors of all sizes. Fortis Construction will share how its cost management operating model was redefined through the implementation of Autodesk Cost Management, aligning roles, processes, and technology along the way. Rather than focusing on system functionality, this session will offer a deep dive into the strategic decisions, trade-offs, and lessons learned. You will leave with a practical framework for evaluating and structuring your own cost processes toward scalable, consistent, and risk-aware cost management in partnership with Autodesk Cost Management.

Construction is an inherently high-risk, low-margin business with countless opportunities for bad coordination, miscommunication, and disconnected processes. From initial design concepts to construction documentation, preconstruction to handover—many stakeholders, changes, and versions can overwhelm even the most organized and well-aligned teams. Eighty % expect to face added costs from design errors and omissions. Efficient project management can determine the winners in the market. Artificial intelligence (AI) can significantly improve construction project management effectiveness, especially in the early detection of project risks so they can be mitigated. AI can make the link between change orders, RFIs, and submittals back into the design phase. AI helps reduce the number of frivolous RFIs and wasteful change orders with the ultimate goal of better project performance. Hear from industry leaders about the application and value of machine learning in construction project management.

As technical professionals we spend years in school, then years studying for licensing exams. And we spend our entire careers pouring over code books and technical manuals. By the time we reach management positions, we’re technical experts and excellent project managers…but we never learned how to manage people. As it turns out, soft skills are just as important as technical skills. This session will offer a forum to discuss various management skills and techniques that will help us all improve our management skills. During this presentation, we’ll share and discuss experiences, successes, and failures as managers. We’ll share resources and have an open discussion, so we can all learn from each other. Everyone must find their own management style, and undoubtedly along the way you’ll discover that the bottom line is this: We are all just people . . . wouldn’t it be easier if we were numbers!
