However, each type of software has its hidden places to be uncovered. Come to this session to learn how to create new articulated vehicles based on given data sheets and discuss other possibilities available for creating new vehicles, including rear-axle steering. You will learn how to add load to the trailer for analysis purposes and as well as for animation. Learn how to import a vehicle created in another product, and to have rich vehicle library for animation. Reporting is an important part of the product and we will go through different possibilities offered by the product. We will also discuss roundabout design possibilities

How many steps does it take you to fully design a roundabout after you’ve created your profiles and alignments? It can take as few as 3. In this class we’ll use 2 products to create alignments, profiles, and a fully designed roundabout. Vehicle Tracking is the solution to creating a corridor of a fully designed roundabout in AutoCAD Civil 3D software. We’ll cover best practices, workarounds, shortcuts, and the pros and cons of using Vehicle Tracking. You will also see examples of projects in which you can use a variety of products and methods for modifying roundabouts, and we’ll create a client presentation of the design for a project.

Learn how Autodesk Vehicle Tracking can be used in the preliminary design phase of an airport project. Create and then model the movements of both aircraft and ground support vehicles including push-back manoeuvers. But why stop there? In this hands-on lab, you’ll learn how to generate parking lots, sweep vehicles around a site, and create a roundabout junction corridor. Step by step, you’ll learn how to choose a parking-lot style that is right for your site. Select the appropriate vehicle to check for turning movements and height clearances. Create a roundabout junction corridor to add to an existing AutoCAD Civil 3D software road corridor. You’ll also generate reports and customize the settings and standards for a specific project.

This class is all about combining the traditional software tools like AutoCAD Map 3D software, AutoCAD Civil 3D software, Revit software, Vehicle Tracking software, and Navisworks software with more recent technology like InfraWorks 360 software and ReCap 360 software in order to support the infrastructure construction process. The focus will be mainly on preliminary construction planning and visualization. We will also look at the capabilities of communicating information to the different stakeholders in the project. This session features InfraWorks 360 and AutoCAD Civil 3D.

Learn how nontraditional tools for automotive—such as Autodesk Construction Cloud, Vehicle Tracking, and Navisworks plug-ins or Geographic Information Systems (GIS) integrations—are powering advanced visualization and enabling proactive factory planning.

This course illustrates key new features and tools with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 software, InfraWorks 360 software, and Vehicle Tracking software. We will put on display data collaboration between software for Building Information Modeling (BIM) workflows. Beginning with a preliminary design, in this class we will create, analyze, and edit design features such as roads, roundabouts, and bridges while collaborating with AutoCAD Civil 3D 2016 software. At the end of our lecture we will share our final design models to the cloud to be accessed by Autodesk 360 cloud-computing platform and InfraWorks 360 software web viewer. In addition, we will also animate our final design into a video presentation with 3ds Max Design software.

The Los Angeles mayor proposed a $91 million project called Vision Zero that will help the City of Los Angeles end traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2025. Every year, more than 200 people are killed while moving through Los Angeles. In fact, traffic collisions are leading causes of death for children in Los Angeles. Los Angeles Department of Transportation and U.S. CAD found many ways to utilize the Architecture, Engineering & Construction Collection to help achieve goals set forth by this program. Using reality capture technology and ReCap software, they rapidly modeled existing intersections. With InfraWorks software, city planners created 3D models using their extensive GIS libraries and ReCap scans. Continuing in InfraWorks, they laid out design proposals to communicate design with the engineering team. The city engineers then took the InfraWorks model and refined the design using Civil 3D software. The last step was using Vehicle Tracking software to verify that certain vehicles are able to turn at these new traffic-calming intersections. These tools let the process be done in days, which before could have taken weeks.

This class will explore the potential and power of digital construction and project management with the AEC Collection. In this class, we will dive into the complex installation of several large tanks in a highly confined facility, utilizing drone technology and reality capture with different software integrations. Some of the software this class will explore is AutoCAD Civil 3D software, Vehicle Tracking, ReCap software, ReCap Photo software, Navisworks software, InfraWorks software, and more. With the integration of all these programs, the project was able to succeed as planned, utilizing found vehicle and building clearances as well as logistical confirmation of the project's ability to succeed. This class will demonstrate the effectiveness of the AEC Collection as well as the virtual design and construction (VDC) methodology.

This class looks at the solutions, products, and workflows which enable critical business decisions to be made using real-time information, including the following: Airfield Maps—providing a standard view of the airfield; Community Relations—mapping noise-compensation schemes and vortex strikes; Engineering and Services—providing up-to-date, accurate information on the services of a mini-city; Operational Views—providing awareness of the operational status of the airfield to key internal and external stakeholders (Stand, Blocks; Aircraft Tracking, Vehicle Tracking, Active Works); Space Map Views —providing the terminal floor plans mapped against the space lease data; Service Clearance and Permits—enabling contractors to undertake works within a highly controlled environment; Winter Resilience—enabling critical decision making tools within times of severe operational impact due to adverse weather. The class will provide an overview of the interfaces that make the aggregation of this data possible.

In this class, Alias software expert and small business owner Michal Jelinek discusses how he used Alias as a critical tool for developing prototypes of a personal tracked vehicle. Michal shows how he used SketchBook® Pro software to create initial concepts, Inventor® Fusion software to design mechanical parts, and then Alias for the aesthetic surfaces and for prototyping.

This class presents an entirely new strategy for managing data throughout the course of the multiyear contracts that aviation-focused civil engineers engage in. Currently there is no initiative to merge proposed/as-built designs into an overall model. InfraWorks software enables this 3D model to be created and updated throughout the course of a contract, and the software system creates new opportunities for sharing conceptual design ideas. Creation of this model per client constitutes a tangible reason for aviation clients to remain with civil firms beyond current reasoning. Furthermore, this enables all conceptual design or project follow-up to happen in 3D. Additionally, this enables the creation of shareable models for aviation facility operations and maintenance personnel. This course will introduce strategies and software techniques for merging data within larger data sets. Lastly, this course will briefly present Vehicle Tracking software with aviation capabilities specifically addressed.

The course will cover the creation of a Construction Project utilizing as many Autodesk products as possible. We will start with InfraWorks 360 to demonstrate on the site selection, then utilize Map3D, Civil3D and Vehicle Tracking to build the infrastructure of the site. In parallel, we will demonstrate the use of Dynamo, Formit and Revit to build the Buildings and Structure of the site, and Plant3D, with Advance Steel to build the rest of the Plant. Also demonstrated will be Navisworks, BIM360 Glue and BIM360 Field to show a complete workflow of a project from initial concept phase to final project delivery and commissioning.

Adding vehicles to any large-scale highway or roadway visualization animations can be a daunting and laborious task. Representing accurate traffic patterns and vehicle movements would often be impossible without hand-animating hundreds or thousands of cars (not usually a viable solution). Using VISSIM traffic data and 3ds Max Civil View extension, it’s possible to automate much of the process, as well as to have an accurate and visually correct simulation that’s easy to update as changes to the model or traffic data occur. This class will cover the basic steps of integrating the traffic data; provide some tips and tricks for the vehicles; and pass on efficient workflows for animating, rendering, and revising during the lifecycle of a project.
