AWS Deadline Cloud for VRED software is a fully managed, cloud-based, render management solution to burst high-quality rendering at scale. This easy-to-deploy and affordable solution supports VRED core and service-managed fleet (SMF) infrastructure—managed by AWS, requiring no IT commitments to configure, deploy, and maintain infrastructure and licensing. Customer-managed fleet (CMF) infrastructure offers end users the flexibility to use their existing on-prem hardware infrastructure or cloud-based environments to perform VRED rendering. Slides and live demos will illustrate how AWS Deadline Cloud for VRED can be integrated into an existing pipeline. This is illustrated through interfaces, including stand-alone tools, the Deadline Cloud API, and a render job submitter. Features highlighted will include grouping workers to fleets, assigning render job prioritization and scheduling, as well as monitoring progress through the Deadline Cloud monitor desktop application and AWS Management Console.

This class will analyze data from the FlexLM License Manager to create a live license dashboard using an open-source set of tools. We’ll use Business Intelligence platforms (BI) and MY SQL to identify the demand and consumption of licenses per application, group of applications, and users per design team. The interactive dashboard will provide valuable statistics of the license usage per software, which help to predict the license consumption for future projects.

Wouldn't it be great if we could go to a workstation, pull a proverbial trigger to uninstall everything we don't need anymore, and then pull another trigger to install everything we need now? We can't do that unless we find a way to 'weaponize' our software deployments. This class will share a company's experiences managing Autodesk, Inc., products and keeping its computers and users from 'blowing up.' Without using any special install tools (like Group Policy, for example), you will explore the techniques this company uses to reduce the steps and amount of time needed to install the applications as suites or individual products. In addition, this class will cover a way to reduce the time and effort needed to uninstall previous releases with little effort, including the extras. There are many techniques in use today and this class intends to add more weapons to the arsenal.

This class will cover the creation of deployments of Autodesk products and updates using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (commonly referred to as SCCM). Microsoft SCCM is the most commonly used systems management software product used by Autodesk customers, and with the 2019 releases, we’ve optimized our software for SCCM compatibility. This class is targeted toward customers with a firm understanding of SCCM who want detailed information about deploying Autodesk products and updates. Topics will include using advanced settings such as the Hybrid and application model in SCCM. There will also be a detailed walk-through of how to debug common deployment issues.
