Learn how Porsche uses ReCap software, mesh extraction, and Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud) to create accurate “last stand” models of production factories before retooling. In high-cost environments where production downtime must be minimized, existing Revit models of assembly lines are compared with current as-built conditions using lightweight, segmented meshes. This enables precise adjustments or extensions of production lines with reduced risk. This session will cover mesh generation, semantic segmentation, and integration into Model Coordination, with real project insights and best practices for large-scale manufacturing environments.

Digital Prototypings, powered by real-time data, AI, and IoT, are poised to revolutionize product design and manufacturing workflows within the design-make-use lifecycle. By enabling data-driven, predictive processes, Digital Prototypings transform how products are conceived, iterated, and validated. What if IoT sensor data embedded in a product can detect stresses during its operation, which can be derived to automatically redesign a stronger and more efficient iteration? What if IoT sensor data embedded in a 3D printer can detect defects on a layer-by-layer basis to make real-time, in-situ adjustments to prevent manufacturing failures and scrap? Questions like these are not only being asked but explored and tested at Autodesk Research. Through a performance-aided design approach, we are harnessing sensor data to drive real-time optimizations, using a flying vehicle as a cutting-edge testbed to redefine the future of design and manufacturing.

2024 is a pivotal year for BBI Autosport as we transition to being a small-volume, boutique vehicle development and manufacturing firm. With the evolving landscape and changing caliber of modern vehicles—and the market demand for "soulful," nostalgic but refined machines—we've found the right market for us. We're infusing our experience, creativity, and agility into this, along with a massive tech-forward approach. We're employing collaborative development, lean manufacturing, and industry 4.0 methodologies to improve margin and efficiency, and deliver a product that will (by this time) be redefining the specific market segment we're entering. We want to redefine how to make low-production vehicles, and how to have a sustainable business model while reaching near OEM levels of integration, quality, and reliability.
