Inspired by these nostalgic thoughts, why not create a DIY mini rabbit bell and bring it back to home to share with others about the special moment from Autodesk University? Fusion is excellent for seamless integration of MCAD and ECAD. In this 90-minute class, you will craft your very own Rabbit Bell from scratch using Fusion. You could bring one Rabbit Bell PCB board back to home.

Why struggle with your current outdated workflows to develop design documents? You can integrate fabrication level modeling into your current workflow and be more efficient—spending more time on engineering and less time on modeling! The current industry standard for engineering firms that use Revit software involves focusing on the out-of-the-box content. Firms struggle with the limitations around modeling advanced systems in Revit. If used correctly, Fabrication Parts for Revit can eliminate the amount of rework that is generated around using Revit design systems. Firms have adopted the approach to build better content and develop stronger templates. But still, modeling systems such as plumbing can be labor intensive. Modeling plumbing systems in AutoCAD Plant 3D software or AutoCAD MEP software can help better bridge the gap for those who struggle with plumbing in Revit.

Drawing templates, when used to create drawings in Fusion 360 software, can both accelerate the time it takes to complete your mechanical engineering documentation, and ensure your drawings consistently represent your business and project standards. We will start by creating a new title block, with fields that can be automatically populated with information from the design, project, and your profile. We will add this to a new template, then walk through other options for customizing the template for your specific office and business needs. We will then show the power of "placeholder" elements in your template, and demonstrate how they can help remove much of the tedium of creating a new drawing from scratch.

This industry talk will begin by describing where we were back in 2017, how we came to find out about Fusion 360 software, and the decision-making process we went through when converting to using Fusion 360. In 2017, our students were stuck to a desk in our “CAD suite” using a competitor product, “collaborating” with USB sticks, and finding creative ways to get around the limitations with “locked down” educational software. The talk will present some case studies detailing the impact Fusion 360 has had on certain workflows and teaching methodologies, as well as some fundamental details of how we deployed the software successfully and are now able to teach more than 300 novice engineers a year how to use the software. During each year that we have subsequently used Fusion 360, we have been able to refine our approach to teaching and using the software on a daily basis, and during the talk we will share some of the best practices and teaching materials we have created.

How do you do use the secure, scalable, and cost effective capabilities of the cloud to accelerate your manufacturing design and engineering process?
