Join us as we have a candid and in-depth discussion about how Clayco, Inc., transitioned to the Autodesk Forma software Forma Build from BIM 360 and PlanGrid. This session will cover in detail the specific areas of our Forma Build implementation, including how we redefined account admin standards on roles and companies, how projects were onboarded to the new platform, and how Clayco, Inc., took a measured approach to its rollout of Forma Build modules. This session is a follow-up of the class presented last year about the “Virtual construction site management with advanced workflow in BIM360” (CS468465). We will describe the improvements made this year through the adoption of the Build module including the PlanGrid Build mobile app for field workers. We’ve been widely extending the use of Forma with digitalization of other construction processes in addition of those already implemented. We are focusing our attention on setting up a workflow for safety and environmental check in the work site.Using Forge and Forma Connect, we are developing integration with other company database and Legacy IT systems, to avoid data redundancy and to build up integrated dashboards. In upcoming years we will be able to manage and improve the construction process of linear infrastructure projects with ConstructionCloud in order to improve data quality, reduce costs and time by 60%, reduce wastefulness and promote sustainability

At BL Harbert International, we found that the best way to accomplish this is by providing concrete examples throughout the company of useful applications on our own projects. To achieve that, we've used several tools already at our disposal in AEC Collection and Autodesk Forma. This class will step through a workflow of processing imagery in ReCap Photo, then analyzing in either AutoCAD software or Civil 3D software, and finally sharing with stakeholders and making annotations in BIM 360 software or Forma Build software.

With examples of precast volumetric apartments, laminated structural timber frames and entire villa modules assembled and shipped to site, we will share lessons learned from managing information, design models and shop drawings during the design, procurement, and construction phases for 3,000 buildings. Learn how we, as the owner, configured and implemented BIM 360 for our large scale complex projects. Our BIM processes, workflows and use of BIM 360, were awarded the BSI Kitemark for delivering projects to ISO 19650 standards. Our challenge is ensuring everyone has the knowledge and skills to participate in our digital delivery process. In the AU 2021, I am planning to present how BIM 360 can help for Design Collaboration, Review and Issues Management between multiple disciplines in the same company or different companies. In WME, how we make use of BIM 360 for various design process and stages like design collaboration, design review, transmittal creation and Issues management. These features are helping us to collaborate within our team and with external parties. We use various workflows for design collaboration, reviews and issues management for the effective collaboration. We use Desktop connector for Navisworks and CAD files. Now we are exploring model coordination and the new feature of Naming convention standard as per ISO standard. We are enjoying and exploring more on new features from Autodesk.

The Federal Reserve Board is renovating, preserving, and expanding a pair of large, adjacent historic buildings at the same time. The joint venture FORTUS assembled a 200-person, 23-consultant design team for this project. The team went on to develop 40+ Revit models totaling more than 15 GB with an additional 4,295 scans of point cloud data. To facilitate such a large endeavor, FORTUS employs common best practices for Revit and BIM 360 software. In this class, we’ll discuss the best practices that held up, expose the ones that struggled, and reveal newly discovered ones. The best practices we’ll cover focus on project setup, collaboration and communication standards, division of models and teams, alternate design options, point clouds, building orientation, BIM 360 Model Coordination, and QA\QC tools.

This session will cover a case study from The Red Sea Development to share lessons learned from the design, manufacture, and assembly of a large, complex, mass timber structure. In this session, we’ll demonstrate the best practices from the owner's perspective for defining the building information modeling (BIM) requirements and processes to ensure the success of our OSM projects. Imagine four timber-framed, double-curved, 100-foot-span roofs—designed in London, manufactured in Switzerland, shipped to Jeddah, and assembled at a remote site. We'll share our experience of evaluating BIM formats, determining preferred solutions for the interoperability between Revit software, Rhino, and cadwork to support the designers, timber manufacturing, and contractors to deliver the luxury building. Our teams used BIM 360 software for the model collaboration for review of design and coordination issues. And we learned how to maximize the tools and platform to solve complex challenges, improve our quality-control processes, and ultimately deliver the project on site.

Where are we four years after the launch of ISO 19650? Digital transformation is accelerating as we speak, and standards are coming to make our life easier. Everyone wants to be the first runner and the best in class. But how do we cope with this speed and get the job done? This class will give an example of SYSTRA digital transformation strategy and the effort needed to launch the implementation of ISO 19650 on both the organizational and project levels. We’ll give an overview of the lessons learned and describe "must" actions to be deployed. We’ll uncover how ISO 19650 served to ramp up our digital engineering and data management capabilities, and how it pushed us to invest in development of our own digital solutions based on Autodesk Forge. We’ll also briefly present their implementation on different ongoing projects. To conclude, we’ll look at the direction we are heading right now on our digital transformation journey. The BIM 360 and Autodesk Forge digital solutions will include eLODy, Pablo, Carbon Tracker, and SafebyBIM, among others.

In the summer of 2020, as the world struggled through the COVID-19 pandemic, Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) selected an international team to design Noida International Airport (NIA) in Delhi. The Delhi National Capital Region aims to serve 200 million passengers by the year 2060. The architectural team consists of Nordic, Grimshaw, Haptic, and STUP, and represents offices across the globe—Norway, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States. It became clear that the only way to work together, even without a pandemic, would be to the most-advanced cloud services—BIM 360 software. Maximizing a combination of BIM 360 Docs, BIM 360 Design, and BIM 360 Collaboration software, the team has designed the most-optimal workflows to suit the project. As the team members proceed with the four-phased architectural design from their home offices, this demo aims to present the routines we used, the collaboration processes we introduced and discovered, and the ways we brought together an international team to create sustainable world-class architecture.

Since 2012, it has transformed its DNA and worldwide offices looking for a cultural and technological accomplishment using building information modeling (BIM) methodology. The main goals have been to eliminate geographical barriers, find a unique method of communication, and share the studio's pioneer ideas about design, multidisciplinary coordination, and sustainability. In this case, study we'll cover how the adoption of BIM 360 Team launched the beginning of a continuous improvement of workflows, until the arrival of a new era of social changes with the launching of Autodesk Forma with Forma Design Collaboration software. We'll highlight the relationship, progress, decisions, health models, revisions, results, and problems found in this virtual environment, where the ethical principles are the same for 500 square meters and 1,200 participants.
