Australia, one of the driest continents, faces critical water challenges. The country now looks beyond its dams to desalination plants and recycled water treatment to address this. However, constructing desalination plants traditionally consumes high energy and impacts the environment. This session focuses on how John Holland, an Australian contractor, successfully streamlined its major water infrastructure projects valued at $2.5 billion by implementing a common data environment hosted on Autodesk Construction Cloud. The firm replaced traditional tasks performed using desktop products—such as clash detection, information management, and design reviews—resulting in significant cost and time savings and improved efficiency across the project lifecycle, benefiting all stakeholders. We will share how we drive sustainability results by using building information modeling (BIM) to optimize recycled materials and reduce carbon footprint, ensuring the potential for environmentally friendly practices within the water infrastructure sector.

AutoCAD (& verticals) Plant 3D, and Revit all have different workflows with ACC/BIM 360 projects and the Desktop Connector. After many challenging hours I believe I have finally found a way to explain the various ACC/BIM 360 workflows and would like to share this knowledge with everyone else who's also dealing with all these various workflows and collaboration options. Specifically, I'm going to cover working with Revit, Plant 3D, and Civil 3D (same workflows for AutoCAD) with ACC and/or BIM 360 projects. I'll also cover the Desktop Connector 15 and 16 and the differences we've encountered, good and bad.

In this class we will cover the 'sore spots' of AutoCAD Plant 3D software. You will learn how to troubleshoot the most common challenges, including project setup and configuration, networking issues, Vault software, inaccessible projects, customer's custom parts, equipment, specs and catalogs, XML codes editing, and migration problems. You will also learn how to use Revit software data in AutoCAD Plant 3D software, and you will learn how to incorporate AutoCAD Structural Detailing software drawings and Inventor software part and assembly models into an AutoCAD Plant 3D software project for a better workflow.

We will cover the features that Vault software has to offer an AutoCAD Plant 3D project or an AutoCAD P&ID project. Specifically we will look at Replication, Lifecycles, Categories, and Attribute Mapping. We will cover the process of creating a new AutoCAD Plant 3D project or an AutoCAD P&ID project and migrating it to Vault software. Then we will look at the migration of an existing AutoCAD Plant 3D project or an AutoCAD P&ID project to Vault software. We will also examine in detail how to manage Data Manager outputs in Vault software. We will cover the specific rules around utilizing Vault software for your project, and we'll also cover the environmental settings and workflow systems you should consider before attempting your project in Vault software. An AutoCAD Plant 3D project or an AutoCAD P&ID project in Vault software should be an exciting and positive experience for the extended design team. This course is the first step in determining that sort of experience.
