Geographic Information Systems (GIS) have long been used to model the environment and perform 2D spatial analyzes of large areas. However, with the increasing availability of computing power, data acquisition methods, and automated workflows that generate detailed 3D data, GIS models became more and more detailed and began to contain 3D models. .
Through the bridge and tunnel project, we modeled the project in 3D using Revit. Templates were stored in ACC. We used Esri mobility tools (offline and online) to collect site data and populate a GIS database. After that we linked the Revit models to ArcGIS, then we could see the 3D models in the environment. We also added maintenance attributes and we were able to communicate.
